Utther Finau '20
Utther Finau '20 is the recipient of the Rev. Cal C. Wright Ministerial Scholarship. After she graduates from McMurry, she plans to attend seminary and become an ordained minister in the Central Texas Methodist Conference.
Utther is an honors student who serves as a resident assistant and is a sophomore class senator. She also serves on the Campus Activities Board and is a member of Theta Chi Lambda and the McMurry Band.
In a letter to her donors, she said, "I love McMurry for so many reasons! It is a diverse community that has actively taken on a set of values that paralleled my own. I have witnessed McMurry making students their priority and making sure their voices are heard and their needs (as well as an abundant amount of wants) are provided. It is the kind of school that is dedicated to making sure their students are well taken care of. I want to sincerely thank you for allowing me to come to McMurry. Since I first stepped on campus last year, I have learned many things about the school, Christianity, my future career path, and most importantly, about myself."
